Crest Lane Seventh-day Adventist School was  established at its present location in 1965.  It  is a 1-8 grades elementary school operated by the Westminster and Reisterstown Seventh-day Adventist churches of the Chesapeake Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. Crest Lane is accredited by The North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists,  and meets or surpasses the high academic standards established by the accrediting body.  We are also accredited by the National Council for Private Schools.

The Crest Lane Staff is made up of three full time professional teachers with a NAD certification.  Volunteerism  is encouraged, and an active group of volunteers are involved in numerous activities from regular support to the teaching staff, to office and clerical work, to fund raising, and field trip coordination.

The theme of Relationship Building With Christ and Others is a driving force in the curriculum and activities of the school.  Regular chapel programs focus on personal spiritual growth and the development of a closer walk with God.  Relationship building is also at the heart of our community outreach program. Students are involved in visiting the nursing home and other mission projects.

It is our mission to lead all the students at Crest Lane Seventh-day Adventist School to Christ and prepare them for unselfish service to God and their fellow men.  We envision a school environment that prepares all the students for the challenges of life to reflect the character of Christ to their community.

It is the purpose of this school to:

•  Help students develop a positive sense of self-worth as a child of God, adopted into His royal family, and chosen to be His ambassador to our world.
•  Teach and uphold the beliefs, standards and practices of God's Word.
•  Operate on the principle that to obey God is more important than pleasing people,  and the highest and best motivator is love for God and a desire to glorify His name.
•  Treat all students with courtesy and respect.
•  Nurture good mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health.
•  Guide students to be discriminating in the use of leisure time and choice of entertainment.
•  Prepare students to be productive workers and good citizens.

The motto chosen by the founders of Crest Lane Seventh-day Adventist School is “Educating for Eternity.”  Every facet of Crest Lane School’s program is guided by this God-given principle in order to offer true education.

Every child is God’s special creation, made in His image, with individual abilities, differences, and personalities. Each child has a right to the best possible education—an education that nurtures the whole person to be more like Jesus. We believe that true education means more than a preparation for life in this world. It has to do with the whole being, not just the education of the mind. It is the harmonious development of the physical, mental, and spiritual powers. True education prepares the student for  joyful service in this earthly life and for joyful service in the future heavenly life.
